I have the Borla on my car and it's definitely 2 1/2" from the cat to the muffler. The performance gain is of course most noticeable when combined with the intake and ecu, but I only had the intake when I added the exhaust. The car had more power and had a nice growl to it. I've had the exhaust for almost a year and the exhaust tone seems to be a little deeper now than when it was new, but it could be my imagination. I think you will be really happy with the exhaust but a grand is way overpriced for the system. I got mine at Pep Boys and told them I was getting a 20% discount at [ www.carparts.com ] (which was the truth) and they gave me the discount as well. The exhaust cost me less than $700! Good luck.
